But this time, we’ve found a new fitness hack that’s got the fun factor, the burn factor, and the “why didn’t I think of this before?” factor all rolled into one. And the best part? No gym required.
Introducing the Body Board Workout — a.k.a. the skateboard workout you never saw coming!
Yep, that old skateboard tucked in the garage, the one your kid used twice before moving on to a gaming headset, just became your new best workout friend. Grab it, dust it off, and get ready to work that lower body into summer-time fine or runway-ready realness.
THE WORKOUT: 4 Skateboard Moves That’ll Have You Gliding Into Greatness
Don’t let the wheels fool you—this workout is as effective as it is fun. It’s got balance, burn, and body control written all over it. And if you’re like me and my son Tjuan, you’ll be shocked you never tried this sooner.
1. Reverse Lunge Glide

- Start standing with one foot on the ground, the other on the skateboard.
- Slowly lunge back as the skateboard leg glides behind you.
- Keep control and come back to the start.
- Add dumbbells if you’re feelin’ spicy.
2. Abdominal Seesaw Planks

- Get into plank position with your feet on the skateboard and hands on the ground or dumbbells.
- Alternate rocking the skateboard back and forth.
- Now flip into reverse plank position, legs straight, feet still on the board. Repeat the motion.
- Core? Engaged. Shoulders? On fire. Confidence? Sky-high.
3. Wall Sit Gliders

- Place the skateboard against the wall vertically.
- Rest your back flat against it and slide into a seated squat hold.
- Add dumbbells to make it a Wall Sit Plus Ultra.
- Perfect for posture, quad burn, and Instagram flexes.
4. Side Squat Glides

- Stand with your front leg planted, back foot sideways on the skateboard.
- Squat with your front leg while the back foot glides laterally.
- Push back to start and repeat.
- Your glutes and hamstrings are gonna say, “Thank you, Queen Princess!”

I know what you’re thinking:
“A skateboard? Me??”
But listen—unique movements are exactly what sets the stars apart.
From NFL players doing underwater treadmills, to A-list actors dancing on balance beams—awkward is effective. Why? Because the body gets bored! Just like a rich kid in a mansion, after a while the magic wears off. People like the legendary Kobe Bryant was known for putting himself under the most grueling, and awkward training methods to give his body and basketball prowess the slightest edge in the most uncommon situations.

You need change, you need challenge, and you need creative chaos. That’s how breakthroughs happen. These oddball workouts might just be the difference between a plateau and the best body of your life.
